In Paraguay NovaCrop uses the water of the Yrenda Aquifer to irrigate. The water of the Yrenda aquifer is an undergroud river refilled by the snow and rain from the Andes mountains.
In Paraguay the model is combining the production of crops under irrigation with forest reserves (50% of total area is kept in native forest). The balance between emissions and sequestration shows a significant carbon capture situation.
